Basics of Digital Image Processing

Syllabus

Introduction to digital image; terms and definitions; Digital data formats — Band Interleaved by Pixel (BIP), Band Interleaved by Line (BIL), Band Sequential (BSQ), Digital Image Processing: Preprocessing Radiometric corrections, De-stripping, Geometric corrections, coordinate transformation, -Resembling and interpolation. Image Enhancement Contrast stretching — linear and non-linear, histogram equalization, histogram normalization, density slicing, thresholding; concept of Convolution and Image Filtering, low-pass filters, high- pass filters, edge detection. Image Fusion, Classification, Accuracy Assessment, Ground Verification.
